Graduating Resident
This Resident is approaching the end of their program and are available for hire.
Laura Adams - Worship
Jesus captured my heart when I was a little girl—my earliest memories involve me using the gift of music to offer a song of “First Love” from my heart to the King of kings. I’ve been blessed to spend the past two decades of my life ministering to 7th-12th grade students as a public-school music teacher while also bi-vocationally serving on and leading worship teams at area churches.
Over the past few years, the Lord began a stirring in my spirit, leading me out of the field of education and into full-time vocational church ministry. These promptings intensified over the past school year during which the Lord led me through a season of restoration, re-direction, and refinement. Once I received clarity from the Holy Spirit, I responded in obedience that required one of the biggest faith risks of my life—retiring early from teaching and simply waiting for Him to reveal my next step. The Lord simultaneously instructed me to “bloom and develop where He had planted me,” right here, at Victory Family Church, where I had been serving part-time as the New Castle Campus Worship Director for the past three years. Shortly after, the Holy Spirit spoke through one of our pastors who pointed me to the Residency program!
I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and beyond excited to transition into this new season of growth and development in leadership, worship ministry, and most importantly, my personal walk with the Lord. Beyond that, my heart desperately burns for the souls of those who have struggled with their identity, especially people within the LGBTQ community, to experientially encounter the love of Jesus, receive the free gift of salvation through Him, know who they are in Christ and to live a life of true freedom and healing!
I look forward to connecting with you and answering any questions you may have! Email me at ladams@lifeatvictory.com
Current Residents
Katy Bruner - Pastoral
I’m a wife, mom of three, veteran, and someone deeply passionate about building strong, welcoming communities. With a background in operations and project management, I thrive on bringing structure, clarity, and purpose to every project I am a part of. Whether I’m leading a team, organizing an event, or stepping in to serve wherever needed, my goal is always to honor God through my work and relationships.
For years, I felt a calling toward full-time ministry. Yet something always seemed to stand in the way – timing, responsibilities, or just uncertainty when my dad passed away, something in me shifted and I realized I could no longer ignore the tug in my heart. I began praying and leaning into God, asking Him to reveal what was next. During this time, God brought people into my life who challenged, supported, and encouraged me to go deeper into His word. That season of reflection opened my heart, and when the residency opportunity came along, I knew it was time to say yes.
Now, I’m stepping into this new season with excitement and expectancy, ready to grow and learn, and serve in new ways. Through my life experiences, I’ve learned how to connect with people from all walks of life. I currently serve in Guest Services, co-lead the Marriage and Family hub for Small Groups at our Cranberry Campus with my husband, and lead an events team for one of our conferences. I love seeing how small acts of service can make a lasting impact.
I’m deeply grateful for the gifts God has given me—skills, experiences, and passions that were never meant to stay with me alone. I’m eager to see how He continues to use them to bless others and build His kingdom. It’s an honor to walk this journey with Him and with the incredible people He’s placed around me.
Lexi Wilson - Worship
Growing up as an only child, there were two things I could do for hours without ever getting bored: singing and playing school with my stuffed animals. I didn’t realize it at the time, but God was already planting the seeds of what I would one day have the honor of doing—leading worship and teaching others.
Everyone around me knew how much I loved to sing. While many were encouraging, not everyone appreciated the constant, loud melodies that followed me around. In high school, I began taking voice lessons with the worship leader at church, who consistently encouraged me to join the worship team. Although I felt a pull toward worship ministry, fear kept me from stepping out. I was reminded that worship isn’t a performance but an offering to God—something I didn’t fully understand at the time. Eventually, I stepped away from lessons and that dream was put on hold.
In February of 2021, I rededicated my life to Jesus. With that came a deep desire to truly know Him—through Scripture, community, and time in His presence. That familiar pull toward worship returned, but this time it was different. I realized God had given me a gift, and it was time to use it for His glory. I joined the worship team in the fall of 2021 and have since completed a year-long internship and two years in the Residency Program at Victory Family Church.
As I continue to grow through this residency, I see my calling more clearly than ever. God has entrusted me with a gift, and my heart is to steward it well. I now use my voice to lead others into His presence, and it is an honor I don’t take lightly. I am passionate about teaching and helping others step into worship with the gifts God has given them, believing that worship extends far beyond the platform and into everyday life. Living a life of worship and intimacy with God is where it all begins.
Austin Garrett - Students
As a middle school student, I was captivated by the love and presence of God through worship, reading Scripture, and moments of prayer at the end of services. God consistently showed up in ways that brought freedom and transformation, planting the seeds of a calling I would later come to understand: serving students and creating spaces where they can encounter God for themselves.
Through the Lord’s guidance, I have been shaped and equipped for a life in ministry through studying God’s Word, serving in a variety of ministry contexts, and growing through intentional discipleship. I am a graduate of Grove City College with a Master’s in Theology and Ministry, and these experiences continue to form my character and calling as I seek to live out the life and purpose God has prepared for me. When I’m not in ministry, I love being outside—fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping whenever I get the chance.
I am passionate about building up the church, helping people come to know God, and fostering environments where individuals can experience the love, mercy, and grace of Christ. As I step into this new season of ministry, I am grateful for the leaders who have invested in me and am excited to see how God will continue to work through His people.
